1. 35% discount to NGOs.
2. Should you be interested in attending a specific workshop that is not presented in your area, and you need to fly and stay over, we offer you a 20% discount on that event!
3. Register three delegates for an event and a fourth delegate may attend free of charge.
4. Full payment seven working days from the date of your invoice gets you a 10% discount.

Terms and Conditions
1. Cancellations
Should you be unable to attend, we will accept your written cancellation by no later than 7 working days prior to the start of the workshop,  in which event  a cancellation fee of 25% will be charged. Thereafter, we regret we are unable to refund any fees, although  in such cases  we would be happy to welcome a colleague who would substitute your attendance or keep the credit for a following workshop with the same monetary value. Please note that the cancellation fee of 25% will still apply in such event. All cancellations must please be confirmed in writing. 'No shows' on the dates of the workshop are still liable for the full payment. This clause also applies where we have received your registration form, invoiced you and awaiting your payment.
2. EES-SIYAKHA is not liable for any transportation or accommodation costs incurred related to the prospective attendance of an event that does not go ahead on the advertised date. The terms applicable in Clause 1 to cancellations received later than 7 working days prior to the start of the workshop will apply to any payments made in respect of events that do not go ahead for whatsoever reason.

Session 1: Preplanning

  • Cater to needs of client
  • Identify objective (why are you having this event? What do you hope to achieve?) and determine suitability of event chosen
  • Identify key role players of client
  • Build relationship with client
  • Determine and understand target audience
  • Explain event management approach
  • Understand budget requirements
  • A range of possibilities with regard to venue, time, duration is formulated and a preferred choice made
  • A high level plan developed (scope of the event) 

Session 2: Planning event/implementation

  • Identify external/internal factors affecting event
  • Plan checklists for all areas: (e.g. invitations, venue, security, parking, crowd control, catering, accommodation, etc)
  • Plan for target audience
  • Staff and management training/briefing
  • Identification of risk area and management of those risks
  • Determine and understand target audience
  • Manage suppliers and timely procurement in detail
  • Roles and responsibilities in detail
  • Management of emergencies/crises
  • Budgeting and budget control
  • Management of invitation process from drafting invitation to delivery 

Session 3: Post Event

  • Final report and evaluation
  • Did event achieve objective?
  • Debriefings with necessary stakeholders
  • Client visit and references
  • Building up of reference/events manual and checklists
  • Determine and understand target audience
  • Explain event management approach
  • Understand budget requirements
  • A range of possibilities with regard to venue, time, duration is

Target Market

Any person from a marketing or non-marketing background that would like to improve on the techniques and specific skills to manage an event.

Course duration: Two days starting from 8.30am to 16h00.

About your presenter

Dawn Pretorius is the managing director of Adzuri Training Specialists, a SETA accredited training provider and training and development strategy consultancy. Adzuri is in its sixth year and business is secured mostly through word-of-mouth referrals.
Dawn has a M.Com, B.Tech Banking, FIB(SA), MAP (Wits Business School), among others.

Dawn’s career has been in banking and concentrated in financial and estate planning, risk, compliance and corporate governance, as well as corporate training and development  – both technical and soft skills. 
She is a professional member of the Compliance Institute of South Africa, and her practice is accredited with the Financial Services Board for FAIS and the Services Seta (Decision No 0509) and she has delivered a number of papers at conferences and workshops.
